Whatever happened to Joachim Kraft?

On Z35 there was the 18 year old naval cadet Joachim Kraft, from Wilhelmshafen. His duty station was to attend a 37 mm gun at the starboard side.

Any official statement, whatsoever, on the fate of the two destroyers, was not issued to the families in the collapsing German Reich.
